DO YOU PROTECT MY FURNITURE?
Yes - We will protect your furniture with our heavy-duty moving blankets in your home prior to transportation. We also carry shrink wrap for items that may need an extra layer of protection.

WHAT FORM OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?
For Local Moves: We accept cash, personal check, zelle and all major credit cards. If paying by credit card there is a 3% processing fee.
For Long Distance Moves: We accept cash, certified check, cashiers check, zelle or all major credit cards. If paying by credit card there is a 3% processing fee.

DO YOU HAVE ANY HIDDEN FEES?
We pride ourselves in giving upfront and transparent pricing. We do not have any hidden fees.

WHAT DOES THE TRAVEL FEE COVER?
Our one-time travel fee covers M.K Movers getting to your first location and back to the office from your final destination.

DO I GET CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL TRAVEL FEE IF WE ARE MAKING MULTIPLE STOPS?
Travel fees are assessed as a flat fee based upon the size of your move. If you plan to make additional stops not in route to your final destination, there may be an additional fee assessed. Your estimator will be sure to discuss this with you prior to your move.

WHAT SIZE ARE YOUR TRUCKS?
M.K Mover trucks are 26ft long. Each night the trucks are swept and cleaned to ensure each move starts with clean truck.

DO YOU PROTECT MY HARDWOOD FLOORS?
We will protect all of your hard surface flooring with neoprene runners. If you request carpet shield, an additional fee of $52 will apply, this covers up to 200sqft.

ARE YOU LICENSED AND INSURED?
Yes - M.K Movers is fully insured, licensed and bonded.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY ITEMS ARE DAMAGED DURING THE MOVE?
We strive to make sure all of your items arrive safely to your final destination. During the booking process you will select what kind of valuation you'd like to select for your move. The three options are:
- Minimum carrier liablity of .60 cents per lb per article.
- Declared Value (this is not insurance).
- Third Party Full Coverage, this is at a fee through a third party company of www.movinginsurance.com.
Based on what option you select, we will offer a settlement or repair. All claims must be submitted in writing with photos to CLAIMS.MKMOVERS@GMAIL.COM within 90 days of your move day.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY HOME IS DAMAGED DURING THE MOVE?
Again, we try to be as careful as we possibly can, however, if something is damaged cosmetically to the walls, floor, or ceiling we ask that you submit a claim to our claims department with photos at CLAIMS.MKMOVERS@GMAIL.COM and they will work with you on getting repairs started with one of our approved vendors.

DO YOU PROVIDE FIXED QUOTES?
M.K Movers is federally mandated to be an hourly-rate moving company. However, if you are moving over 50 air miles from our office, you may be considered a weighted move which is flat rated. Give us a call for a FREE in home estimate - 630-244-9655.

WHAT HAPPENS IF ALL MY ITEMS DO NOT FIT IN ONE TRUCK?
During your in-home estimate, our estimator will determine how many trucks you need for your move. In the event all of your items do not fit, the moving team will either make an additional trip or we will send an additional truck.

DO YOU MOVE IN THE RAIN AND SNOW?
Yes. M.K Movers moves in all non-severe weather condidtions. All items will be covered by moving blankets and or shrink wrap as they exit your house or our truck. Once the item is in your home or our truck they will be wiped dry.

WHEN DOES MY HOURLY TIME START?
The clock will start as soon as we arrive at your home. Your lead foreman will then stop the clock when your team has reached the final destination and placed all of your household items in the correct area.

CAN YOU MOVE PLANTS?
We recommend you move your plants ahead of time so they do not get damaged. Plants are tricky.

CAN YOU MOVE BOXES WITHOUT LIDS?
All of the boxes must be covered for stacking purposes. If boxes are left uncovered we will ask you to re-pack the items.

HOW DO YOU MOVE MY TELEVISIONS?
TVs over 55” and Ultra Thin TVs of any size must be boxed for transport. M.K Movers can pack them if I provide a box, or supply packing materials for a fee.
TVs 55” and under will be blanket-wrapped if you do not provide a box.
M.K Movers does not dismount or remount TV’s.

HOW IS MY FURNITURE PROTECTED WHEN YOU MOVE IT?
During the move, we will use shoulder harness straps and padded dollies to help prevent any damage to large furniture items. We will also wrap furniture to futher protect it from any damage.

DO YOU HIRE DAY LABORERS OR DO YOU HAVE YOUR OWN EMPLOYEES?
M.K Movers does not hire day laborers. All of our employees are hired by the owner. Each employee is thoroughly trained and certified by our lead foreman. All of our lead foreman are loyal to M.K Movers and have been with the company for a minimum of 5 years.

DO YOUR PRICES CHANGE ON THE WEEKENDS?
At M.K Movers, we have the same rates Monday through Saturday and are closed on Sunday.

DO YOU MOVE PIANOS?
Yes! We move all sizes of pianos including upright, baby grand and grand pianos. For larger pianos we may request that a representative do an in-home estimate to verify the instrument can be moved safely by our team. Estimates are at no cost to you.

WILL YOU DIS-ASSEMBLE AND RE-ASSEMBLE MY BED?
We will dis-assemble and re-assemble all standard beds. Custom bed frames will need to be disassembed prior to our arrival.

DO YOU OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS?
Unfortunately, we are mandated federally by Tariff Laws and we are not able to provide any discounts. We are sorry.

WHAT DON'T YOU MOVE?
Good question - Here is a list of items we do not usually move, however, give us a call to discuss at 630-244-6955 and we will do our best to assist you.
- High Value Items: such as jewelry, money, valuable herlooms, important papers (ex: birth certificates, social security cards, or financial documents).
- Perishable Items: such as produce, frozen foods, regridgerated items and open alcohol.
- Plants: any and all plants.
- Firearms and ammunition.
- All presciption medication.
- Flammable, hazardous or explosive items: gasoline, propane tanks, laundry detergent, household cleaners and chemicals, bleach, ammonia, paint, paint thinner, fireworks, aerosol cans, batteries, fire extinguishers, lighter fluid and explosives.
- Safes - 400lbs or more
- Cars and Motorcycles
- Pets
- Appliances that are still connected to water or gas lines. All appliances must be disconnected prior to our teams arrival in order to be moved.
